Water Today and for the Future: Protected Agriculture in Mexico and Opportunities for Sustainability
This project was launched with the aim of documenting the direct and indirect water footprint of protected agriculture in two key regions of Mexico: Querétaro and Sinaloa. It broadens the perspective of water management to a regional socio-environmental approach. The project will provide recommendations at both the company and regional levels for multisectoral collaboration on regional water resource management. This is a collaboration between the Institute for Social Research (IIS) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the Mexican Association of Protected Horticulture (AMHPAC), and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Mexico.

Territoriality and Collective Rights in Mexico.
A seminar on reflection for collective action
This seminar aims to promote an agenda that positions the agricultural sector as a strategic priority within the programs and initiatives designed as part of public policy. We believe that this key collective actor has the capacity to revitalize Mexico’s territory and facilitate its settlement and development.
In collaboration with the Autonomous Group for Environmental Research (GAIA) and the Institute for Social Research at UNAM, we coordinated this seminar, which held its first session in July 2025, as a space for collaborative dialogue aimed at fostering the development of shared agendas among agricultural, civil society, academic, and government stakeholders
